What is it with hotel coffee?

Have you ever had bad coffee? No, I mean REALLY bad coffee? I thought that I had tasted bad coffee before this past weekend. I was in for a real surprise when I strolled into the breakfast bar at our hotel in Cleveland TN. I pumped the airpot with the expectation of a nice, relaxing morning, smelled the coffee (it seemed innocent) and had myself a sip... ...oh my. Oh, goodness. What was the hotel operator thinking when he chose to use that cheap, industrial coffee?

After that experience I headed back to my room to brew my own (yes, when I travel, I take a french press, my Bodum water kettle, and, of course Lasaters Coffee!). Ahh, much better!

Here's a better choice:

On this trip we took some freshly roasted Ethiopia Harrar. A medium coffee, higher on the acidity side (for those who like the livelier roasts) that has a very pleasing aroma once it's brewed. Pick up some Ethiopia Harrar at your favorite Lasaters Coffee & Tea store, or, purchase it online at http://www.lasaterscoffee.com/!
