Two NEW LOCATIONS Opening VERY, VERY SOON!

Waiting is hard. But as they say (whoever "they" is), good things come to those who wait. Even greater things come to those who work while they wait. ("They" didn't say that... we did.) The LASATERS® family has been hard at work for the last few months. If you haven't heard, there will be two brand-new LASATERS® locations opening very soon! One location will be in Clarksville, Tennessee, in the Tiny Town area at Exit 1. Our other location will be in Mt. Juliet, Tennessee. We're anticipating to open the doors of both cafés for business at the end of November! Excitement!

Make sure to mark your calendars when we make our official, official announcement. Opening day at both locations will be one of grand and caffeinated (or decaffeinated) proportions! Certain drinks will be free (in-café only) while supplies last. The entire tasty LASATERS® menu will also be available. So bring the family, church group, neighborhood, or random person you met last Tuesday and come support your LASATERS®! Be prepared to leave with a few additions to your friends list because here at LASATERS®, our hope is that "those who enter as guests, leave as friends." We can't wait to see you at one of our new locations.

Lots of new stuff...

We've been working on a bunch of new stuff lately here at Lasaters that we wanted to give you a sneak peek at. So, here you go...

OATMEAL

We recently taste-tested 6 oatmeals from Umpqua Oats here at Lasaters headquarters. We were really impressed with all of them and plan to introduce them at each of our locations as the seasons change and the temperatures begin to drop (thankfully)!

SMOOTHIES

If you've had a Lasaters smoothie, you know they're amazing - they're one of our customers' favorite menu items. So, how could we possibly make them better? How about introducing all-new fresh-fruit smoothies?! That's right - just fresh fruit, milk, and a couple pumps of pure cane sugar as a sweetener. We'll be working with Dole, and we're currently finalizing recipes, getting ready to roll out a fresh new line of smoothies!

FRENCH PRESS

Especially for the coffee connoisseur, the French press is one of the best ways to drink coffee. It preserves more flavor (and more caffeine) and provides a very flavorful, rich cup of coffee. Lasaters is now an official dealer for Bodum, and we will soon be selling a line of Bodum French presses (in multiple colors) in our cafe locations, as well as adding French pressed coffee to our cafe menus!

BEING AWESOME

Oh wait...this is nothing new. We're always doing that!

FRANCHISING

We're always on the lookout for new franchisees who want to run their own Lasaters Coffee & Tea. We currently have 4 locations here in Clarksville, we're working on #5, and we're always looking for more great locations! If you're interested, find out more info here.

Day 38 and Counting...

Today is an exciting day. It's Day 38 in our countdown to our newest Lasaters location: SANGO!
Of course tomorrow will be a little more exciting because it will be Day 37!

We're especially excited about this location because it will be a sit-down cafe AND a drive-thru, so you'll have the convenience of grabbing a quick cup for the road or the relaxation of enjoying some coffee with a friend or getting some reading done with you favorite blend of Lasaters coffee...or tea...or hot chocolate...or panini (the list could go on)... Of course there will also be FREE wifi available so that you can surf the web while you're there.

I would love to show you pictures of the inside right now, but we've gone undercover with the construction...literally. The windows are covered and the public is not allowed to see the beauty that is being created.

Almost as exciting as Opening Day is FREE COFFEE DAY, which happens to be the same day as Opening Day: April 1, 2010! Each customer will receive a complimentary cup of coffee on April 1! So, while the rest of the world pulls practical jokes on each other, come on into Lasaters for a good, honest cup of coffee! We know you'll love it!

Money Doesn't Grow on Trees, but Coffee Does!

My name is Kevin Miller. I do a variety of things for the Lasaters Corporation. I run our Facebook page; Twitter account; I design posters, promo ads, gift cards, coffee bags, and lots of other things; I receive, pack, and ship online orders; I make coffee at least 2 or 3 times per day for Mat & myself; I'm learning to roast and blend coffee; I also provide (minor) competition for Mat in ping pong; and I do a bunch of other miscellaneous things around the warehouse and offices. Oh, I also blog now. It's been great so far and I really enjoy working for the Lasaters Corporation and with Mat Lasater.


Anyway, let's get to the important stuff: COFFEE...




Coffee is a man's best friend. 

I know they say that about dogs, but I'd disagree - dogs are a lot of work. Coffee is pure reward...at least that's what I used to think before I began working at Lasaters.

I would still agree that coffee is rewarding.

It can also be a lot friendlier than a dog, but that's just my personal opinion.

The part that I've realized I was wrong on is the "pure reward" part - there's lots of work that goes into making coffee ready to drink!

Money doesn't grow on trees, but coffee does. It may not look like what you'd think though. In fact, if you ever took a walk through Guatemala, or some other place where coffee trees grow, you might unknowingly walk right past a coffee tree!


Before I began working for Lasaters Corporation, I had never thought the whole process through. From harvesting the coffee cherries to cleaning, and eventually roasting the green coffee beans at specific temperatures, it takes a lot of work to get those beans just right before grinding them up and delivering a hot cup of coffee to your empty coffee mug (and inevitably a smile to your face). You can see some of the process for yourself on our YouTube channel. Mat Lasater and Zack Gates (up-and-coming Lasaters Franchisee) took a trip recently to Guatemala and filmed some of behind-the-scenes of coffee harvesting. I think you'll enjoy it.


We work hard to bring you a great cup of coffee. We enjoy coffee and we want you to also. Thanks to all of our loyal customers and our fantastic staff!
