If the flood water was 208 degrees and we could pull about 10 million shots of espresso, we could turn the inside and parking lot of our Riverside location into a giant caffe Americano! Unfortunately, there's nothing tasty about this water, as you know.
The picture to the left was taken on Monday as the flood waters continued to rise. We're not entirely sure the extent of the damage, yet, although, as I type, Mat Lasater just arrived to the store and is about to go in and survey the damage (he could finally get there without swimming).
On Monday, myself, Nicole, and one of the barristas swam/waded to the store (pictured to the right) to see what we could save. We put the espresso machine and the other electronics up as high as possible, hoping the flood water wouldn't rise high enough to damage them. We have yet to find out if we saved them from harm or not.
We are committed to getting it back up and running as soon as possible, so don't settle for a low-quality cup of coffee in the mean time. We still have our other 3 stores open (Sango, Wilma Rudolph, and the Hospital), and we're running a special right now for all regular Riverside customers. You receive 10% off at the Wilma Rudolph store just by telling them you're a regular Riverside customer!
By the way, yes, that is a beaver in the picture above. He was either tired of swimming or really needed a large peach smoothie. Either way, he seemed a bit disappointed.
The beaver picture is priceless. He looks like he can really use an expresso. lol
ReplyDeleteHopefully it won't take to long to get cleaned up and open once again.
