Flood Update 3

We wanted to thank you all for your support while we are working on getting our Riverside store back up and running. Unfortunately we can't quite give you a date that we'll be open, but rest assured, we're moving it along as fast as possible.

Our current status:

HURRY UP AND WAIT.

We're mainly waiting on water to dry. The water level rose to right below the drive-thru windows, but it sat there long enough to seep through the stucco. Each day when the sun hits the building, more water inside evaporates and "sweats" through the walls. It's not a lot, but enough that we can't paint yet.

Insurance has been another interesting issue. They refuse to pay for the parking lot damage and we're having a hard time convincing them that our fence is destroyed (if you've seen it, you know it is). They also wanted us to pull our soggy counter tops out of the dumpster to see if they were salvageable. Despite all of those frustrations, we believe there was a purpose behind this all and we look forward to being back in business as soon as possible.

Once we're able to begin painting, we have a crew of volunteers ready to help. We'll be repairing our fence with some local help as well as installing NEW cabinets and counter tops. The owner of the property, Ricky Edwards, is pre-cutting the drywall so that when it's ready to be installed, it will go up quickly. We'll also have to replace all the product that was in the store. It turns out that nobody likes a soggy scone!

Don't forget that until our Riverside store opens up again, we're opening our Wilma Rudolph location up early at 6am to accommodate our early-risers. And of course our Sango store is open Mon-Fri at 5:30am. We're also offering a 10% discount at our Wilma Rudolph store for our regular Riverside customers. Just make sure to tell the barista that you're a Riverside customer to get your discount!

Thanks for your continued support of Lasaters Coffee & Tea!
