That's A Lot of Coffee.

Each week at the Lasaters warehouse, we fill orders for the (now) 4 locations. Each store restocks on coffee, inventory, cups, etc. We freshly roast the coffee right before pick-up so that it's the freshest that it can possibly be! This week was an extra big batch.

We spent 3 hours roasting 342 pounds of whole bean coffee!

Allow me to break that down for you...

Normal brewed coffee requires approximately .38 ounces of freshly-ground coffee to make 1 8-ounce cup (and of course it goes without saying that it will taste best if it's Lasaters coffee). So, let's do some math...

1 pound of coffee yields about 42 8-ounce cups of coffee.

Which means that 342 pounds of coffee would yield about 14,364 8-ounce cups of coffee!

1 8-ounce cup of coffee has about 100 milligrams (on average) of caffeine in it which means that 14,364 cups of coffee would yield 1,436,400 milligrams of caffeine!

Now, what would be really fascinating would be to figure out how long caffeine keeps a person wired, then we could try to calculate how long a person could go without sleep after drinking that much coffee. Although, if someone drank that much coffee in one sitting, there might be other problems!

All of that to say this: we roasted A LOT of coffee this week. Why? Because we're committed to putting the best cup of coffee in your hand as possible. We want you to look forward not only to the coffee, but the environment that goes with it. We work long and hard to make sure that we produce a quality product that you'll enjoy. So while you're out and about today, swing by one of our 4 locations and grab a cup of your favorite Lasaters drink. If you're not in the area, spoil yourself and order some online. You'll be glad you did!
